To honor the message of Pink Shirt Day, Webber Road Staff Member Victoria Schermel wanted to do something special with her After School Program. She teamed up with Peachland After School Worker, Nichole Tutt, to do a gift exchange of kindness between their kids.
Prior to the event, kids at Webber Road and Peachland created friendship bracelets and cards to exchange. On February 22, Victoria and the Webber Members drove down to the Peachland Club where they shared snacks and exchanged gifts. The kids played games together until it was time for the Webber group to return to Kelowna.
The kids enjoyed showing intentional kindness to one another and learned a lot about the impact of reaching out to others. Many of the kids have been asking when they can visit their new friends again!
