Pink Pancake Breakfast

On February 18th, 2017, Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs Martin Avenue held their annual Pink Pancake Breakfast in celebration of Pink Shirt Day. Over 60 families attended the breakfast.

Families spent the morning catching up with each other and eating pancakes. Staff cooked food so that everyone had enough to eat. As people ate, program Area Leader Mary donned a costume for the most exciting part of the breakfast.

“If You Give a Pig a Pancake” by Laura Numeroff is a well-known and well-loved story about the complications that arise when a pig is given a pancake. Mary, dressed as a pig, read this fun story to kids as the breakfast wrapped up.

Staff at the Martin Avenue Club were happy to celebrate Pink Shirt Day with Kelowna families! If you are interested in more events like this one, like the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs Martin Avenue Facebook page here.
