From May 19 – May 29th, Sherwin Williams Paint celebrated National Paint Week. During this week Sherwin Williams locations across Canada and the US donated paint to community organizations.
The West Kelowna Sherwin Williams store selected Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs Webber Road as their paint recipient. “We were thrilled when Sherwin Williams came to us because we’ve wanted to paint our daycare for some time,” said Cathy Warner of the Webber Road Club. “We just didn’t have the time and resources to complete the project ourselves.”
Sherwin Williams sent ten volunteers to repaint the daycare with two vibrant colours. "Giving back to communities is important to Sherwin Williams and Sherwin Williams employees," said Karina of the West Kelowna Sherwin Williams.
The two colours selected fit with the Boys and Girls Clubs brand. "Jadite is a stunning emerald green and Opaline is a pastel white," said Karina. "The colours really liven up the room."
The paint job took six hours to complete. Cathy and the Webber staff made cheese and fruit plates for the hard working volunteers. After the room was clean and dry, staff were amazed at the change. The room looked bigger and brighter with the new paint.
“On Monday morning the children were thrilled by their green cubby holes,” said Cathy. “It was a big change to them.”
Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs is grateful to Sherwin Williams for their support during Paint Week. Fresh paint in a daycare may seem like a small change, but it had a major impact for the kids, families, and staff members who use the space every day. Thanks, Sherwin Williams!
