Members of the Real Estate Community Give Kids a Safe, Kind Place to Belong

When Marika Wolf sat down for coffee with our Community Engagement Coordinator, Richelle Leckey, neither woman knew that an amazing new partnership between Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs (OBGC) and local Realtors would develop.

Inspired by Pink Shirt Day, Marika decided to support year-round kindness programming at OBGC. She felt that OBGC’s programs provided children and youth with opportunities that should be widely available. “At the end of the day, it’s all about kids,” said Marika. “Every kid deserves the best opportunities in life regardless of their background.”

Excited to give back, Marika called upon members of the real estate community to support kindness programming at OBGC. Donors included Paul Mondoux, Chris Ediri, and Patti Larsen from Royal Lepage; Jason Neumann from REMAX; Trish from Wise on Home Inspections, and Julie Pringle from Snap Commercial photography. Together, these members of the real estate community raised $2242 for OBGC. In addition to these funds, Marika has decided to give $50 from every sale she makes to OBGC for the rest of the year.

“We are incredibly grateful to Marika and her friends for supporting our programs,” said Richelle Leckey. “It’s great to see people come together for children, youth, and families.”

The donations from Marika and the real estate community are the last in a series of post-Pink Shirt Day donations. Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs is grateful to everyone who decided to support the kindness movement this year.
