MCHAPPY DAY HELPS GIVE OKANAGAN KIDS A SAFE PLACE TO BELONG

Published May 03, 2016 08:41

Tomorrow marks the 23rd Annual McHappy Day in restaurants across Canada. On this day, in restaurants from West Kelowna to Lake Country, $1 from the sale of every McCafe®, Big Mac® sandwich and Happy Meal® will go to local Boys and Girls Clubs and Ronald McDonald Charities. Since its inception, McHappy Day has raised more than $51million for Canadian children.

The Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs are very excited to partner again with McDonald’s on this special day and will have Club kids, staff, volunteers and VIP’s at all participating restaurants throughout the day. Boys and Girls Club members will be opening doors, cleaning tables and helping in the kitchen to celebrate the day. Other activities will include face painting, poster drawing, balloon animals, arts and crafts and interactive games.

This year McHappy Day will support Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs “Safe Place to Belong” initiative. The proceeds will help support Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs ensuring that every child and youth in the Okanagan who needs us the most has a safe place to be where they can discover, dream and grow; where hope and opportunity is flourishing. We know that not every young person in our community has it easy and we want to be sure that no matter what a kids circumstances, they have a “Safe Place to Belong” where they have a chance to become healthy, successful, and active participants in society.

So come out tomorrow, May 4th to the McDonalds near you and help support Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs and Ronald McDonald Charities. It is an easy, yummy way to make a difference in the lives of kids in our community.
