McDonalds in Central Okanagan Truly Giving Kids a Safe Place to Be

Published May 06, 2016 16:52

This past Wednesday marked the 23rd Annual McHappy Day in restaurants across Canada. In the Central Okanagan the 8 locations from West Kelowna to Lake Country were busy selling Big Macs', Happy Meals and McCafe products as well as red shoes, raffle tickets, t-shirts and so much more. The amazing efforts of the staff of McDonalds and the community of Central Okangan helped raise a whopping $45,924!!!!

"We are ecstatic! said Richelle Leckey, Community Engagement Coordinator.  Leading up to McHappy Day it was amazing to see the energy and commitment of all of the wonderful team at the McDonalds Restaurants. We knew this day was going to be a great success just based on the momentum however, I am not sure that any of us anticipated this."

The proceeds of McHappy Day will ensure that we are able to continue to provide the children, youth and families in the Okanagan with a safe place to belong where they can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop the confidence and skills to be successful in our community.

Thank you Mr, Pink, Rena Krell, the staff from McDonalds and the community. You made May for a very McHappy Day for the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs.
