We are excited to celebrate the success of a former Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs member and volunteer! Kayli Breitkreutz has been awarded the Marshall Scott Family Fund Scholarship for her Heavy Duty Mechanics education at Okanagan College.

Kayli began her Boys and Girls Clubs journey at the Vernon Club’s after-school recreation programs. She enjoyed the variety of activities offered by the Club. At sixteen, Kayli started to volunteer for the Club, helping out at events like the Vernon Winter Carnival, Moonlight Movies, and Vernon Vipers games.

“I like giving back to the community and to the kids,” Kayli said. In addition to helping her community, Kayli has learned valuable leadership and organizational skills from her volunteer experiences. Her work ethic and intellect helped her achieve honours standing upon her high school graduation.

Kayli’s achievements and experience helped her in the scholarship application process. She is grateful to have financial support for her education. “Student loans can be very stressful, I am thankful for the peace of mind this scholarship has given me.”

We are happy to have been a part of Kayli’s educational journey and lucky to have such a dedicated volunteer. Congratulations, Kayli!
