Lake Country, BC - You may have noticed a “For Sale” Sign at the Lake Country Boys and Girls Clubs. The school district is selling this property, which has been the home of the Boys & Girls Club for the past 13 years. The District of Lake Country, Boys & Girls Club, and School District are working together to secure a different location for the Club. Currently, the club offers programs and services from both the main club location, which serves 136 children, youth and families every day, as well as the 4 schools in Lake Country. The club has 280 members, who participate in programs and services including day care, family resource programs, before and after school programs, and a wide variety of social and recreation programs.
“Our Lake Country Club is a vibrant community centre, providing children, youth and their families a place to call their own. We have a long history of tremendous community support in Lake Country, and are looking forward to working with our partners to find a permanent location in the community. “ Diane Entwistle, CEO, Okanagan Boys & Girls Clubs.
Additionally the Lake Country Boys and Girls Club has community space that is used by both Food Bank, and a number of other community organizations. We are confident that we will be able to find a permanent location for the club as the sale of the property goes through.
