Juice Plus Tower Gardens Growing Healthy Food for our Kids

Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs are proud owners of Juice Plus Tower Gardens in 9 of our Clubs.

Thanks to Juice Plus Canada and local rep Barb Butler, the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs are growing healthy veggies and fruits for the children and youth throughout the Okanagan. Barb has been a wonderful driver and support in arranging to get each one of our Clubs a Tower Garden and being there to set up and educate our children, youth and staff on how and why to grow these healthy foods.

"I am proud to be part of this Growing Up Grant Program and being able to to donate Tower Gardens to the Boys and Girls Clubs. This partnership will help children and families learn how to grow their own food and be excited about healthy eating. It is my way of giving back to my community and to make a positive difference now and into the future," Barb Butler, Juice Plus.Tower Garden1

We know that it is not easy to get your fruits and veggies in all year round but having a Juice Plus Tower Garden ensures we can grow some tasty and healthy lettuces, herbs, tomatoes, strawberries and many more nutritional foods that we can add to snacks and meals every day.

Food and nutrition is a very big part of what we do at the Boys and Girls Clubs. When kids have their nutritional needs met they are better able to learn and grow to be healthy happy adults. This is all part of ensuring our young people have a safe place to belong where people care about their health and well-being while away from their families.
