Hop Aboard the Pendozi in West Kelowna

On April 8th and 9th, nine local artists will be featuring their works at the “Aboard the Pendozi Fine Art Exhibition” located at the West Kelowna Yacht Club. The exhibition coincides with the West Kelowna Yacht Club’s open house BBQ. A percentage from art sales will support the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs Westside Youth Centre.

Artist Fiona Neal invited eight Okanagan artists to join her in the exhibition. The local artists being featured are Nath, Gale Woodhouse, Ann Willsie, Jolene Mackie, Alex Fong, Gene Welsbeck, Bonny Roberts, and Natasha Harvey. It was this group that decided to donate a percentage of art sales to the Westside Youth Centre. “I have two kids so I’m always thinking about kids and how they grow up in the community,” said Alex. “It’s important for kids to feel like they belong.”

The West Kelowna Yacht Club is excited to collaborate with Fiona and the local artists as the Yacht Club’s location has a special place in Kelowna’s history. The Pendozi is a historical Lake Okanagan ferry boat that sits on the West Kelowna Yacht Club property. Like the artwork that will be featured, the Pendozi is a testament to the beauty of the Okanagan.

The West Kelowna Yacht Club is located at 4111 Gellatly Road. The event runs from 10AM-4PM on both days. For more information, click here.
