The Westside Youth Centre would like to thank West Kelowna Community Policing and Okanagan Paper Shredding, for hosting a community shredding event to raise funds for the Westside Youth Centre. Paul the owner of Okanagan Paper Shredding, graciously did all for the shredding for free and spent his Saturday morning hauling bins of paper to the shredder.
During the event 151 boxes of paper were shredded and over $1400 was raised, while having a great time getting to know all the wonderful volunteers. It is great to know that we have such amazing people in our community supporting us.
"We look forward to this being an annual event where both those in the community wanting to ensure their personal documents are destroyed of in a safe way at the same time as the youth in our community are benefiting from the donations made", said Kirsty Butterworth, Centre Director, Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs Westside Youth Centre.
Thank you to everyone who came out to support the youth!
