The Martin Avenue Club hosted the 7th annual Chili Dinner and Gingerbread Event sponsored by #Westjet, on Wednesday, December 19, 2017 for those in the Okanagan one of the snowiest days of the year. Despite the snow 158 people attended the annual event!

During the dinner families could enjoy a bowl or “flight” of several varieties of chili. From hearty vegetarian to spicy meat chili the options were endless. Chili was supplied and made by our wonderful Martin Avenue Club staff. The program, food and entertainment were enjoyed by all. Not only were families able to warm up with their choice of chili, when they arrived they received a boxed Gingerbread House sponsored by WestJet to build and decorate before, during and after dinner. The fun didn’t stop there, a Christmas theme photo booth was set up with tons of props and families were able to have their photos taken. Each child even received a stuffed toy!

A highlight for the past seven years has always been the WestJet volunteers, this year seven WestJetters helped set up and serve the chili! Since 2010 #WestJet has sponsored the event providing volunteers and Gingerbread houses for families to enjoy. Brenda Mole who has been a main supporter of our event the past 7 years and Troy Clark from #Westjet organized the seven WestJet volunteers who helped set up, dish up, and greeted our families. Thank you to all those in attendance, and a special thank you to the #Westjet volunteers and our Club staff, who helped make this night a huge success!
