2015 Toque Tuesday - We've got you covered from head to toe!

Published January 10, 2015 10:00

Toque2015 marks the 18th Annual Toque Campaign, and the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs are thrilled to be participating this year. Along with Canadian Traffic Network, Intact Financial Corporation and Paul Davis Systems as National Partners this great campaign organized and coordinated by Raising the Roof will help support those throughout Canada who are facing homelessness. In addition to the signature Raising the Roof toque, this year you can also purchase socks to support long-term solutions to homelessness!

To date Raising the Roof has generated almost $4 million for local Partner Agencies working towards long-term solutions to homelessness. Together we can make a difference, one toque (or pair of socks!) at a time.

The Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs is a proud community partner in Raising the Roof’s annual National Toque Campaign. On Toque Tuesday, February 3rd, volunteers will be out in full force selling the classic toque and new socks for $10. Eighty per cent of the net proceeds will go to support the work of Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs Youth Shelter and programs for youth at risk, with the remainder funding Raising the Roof’s national initiatives aimed at long-term solutions to homelessness.

The campaign is a collective effort to see how far a toque can go in helping the homeless. Thousands of Canadians do not have a place to call home. In the Kelowna area alone, there are an estimated 625 people experiencing homelessness including over 100 young people. The Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs Youth Shelter is the only one of its kind between Calgary and Vancouver providing support for the young people on the streets in Kelowna.
