For over 60 years, Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs have provided a safe place where children and youth can discover and achieve their dreams. In our clubs, it’s about taking steps to a healthy, successful and active future. It’s about making connections, about experiencing new opportunities and building confidence and skills for life. It’s about believing every Club kid and youth has what it takes, and no matter what else is going on in their lives, the club is a place of encouragement, belonging and connection.
To celebrate 60 years providing programs and services to children, youth and families in our Okanagan community, we have planned a few events, campaigns and challenges inviting all our communities to join us as we highlight and celebrate 60 years in the Okanagan.
Have you been a part of our story in some capacity? Maybe you attended club; played basketball outside our centre; worked or volunteered for us or even attend one of our events.
We want you to share your story and help us write ours.
Stay tuned for ways to join in on our #WhereEveryoneBelongs campaign.
We are so thankful for all of our alumni, staff, donors, club kids and volunteers without you our story would not be.
On June 7, Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs are inviting our community to join us and Unplug to Connect! For at least one hour, we ask people to spend time together and participate in a variety of activities that allow them to interact with their friends and share the kinds of experiences that can only happen when people put down their phones and make time for real connections., turn off their computers and TV’s and make time for real connections. We invite you to be a part of this inaugural year and launch Unplug to Connect as a monumental day for Canadians.
Unplug to Connect encourages all Canadians to spend more time with friends, family, and co-workers, and less time in front of their screens. For one hour or more, unplug from your devices and connect with the people around you! Click here to learn more about how you can get involved.
Join us October 3rd, 2019 as we celebrate 60 years in a community that supports our mission to provide a safe supportive, place where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships, and develop confidence and skills for life.
